A connected client has their own login, full workspace and one IQ Books organisation. They start with 1,000 one-off standard credits plus 2,500 bonus credits; those credits do not refresh automatically. Your practice plan governs how many clients you can connect, and you can optionally sponsor a target balance from your own credit pool.

How do credits work?
Paid-plan credits refresh each billing cycle. Bonus credits from one-off purchases never expire and are used after the current allocation. A practice-connected client is different: they start with 1,000 non-refreshing standard credits and 2,500 one-time bonus credits. Their practice can sponsor a target balance from its own pool, or the client can establish independent billing. Overage is never applied automatically to a practice-connected client.
Will I be charged more than the plan price?
For most users the monthly price is the whole bill — your included credits cover normal use, and most months you'll stay well within them. If a busy month does run you past your allowance, you're not blocked: pay-as-you-go continues at a small per-credit rate (from £0.002 on Starter down to £0.0005 on Enterprise), capped so you're never billed past your limit. Prefer a guaranteed fixed cost? Switch pay-as-you-go off for a hard stop.
What counts as a credit?
Credits scale with the depth of the work: 1 per reconciled bank line, 2 per transaction parsed from a PDF statement, 4 per transaction fully coded (categorised, VAT-classified and posted), and 1,000 for a full LedgerIQ analysis. Internal steps, retries, and test runs never count.
Can I change plans later?
Yes. Upgrade or downgrade anytime. Plan changes prorate automatically and take effect immediately.
Is my data secure?
We use bank-grade encryption, OAuth for integrations, and apply the strictest GDPR standards. SOC 2 journey in progress.
Do you offer discounts for nonprofits?

How are practice client accounts different from users?
Connected clients are separate logins for the books you service. Each receives a full workspace, one IQ Books organisation, 1,000 non-refreshing standard credits and 2,500 one-time bonus credits. Your practice plan decides how many clients you can connect.
Do client accounts spend my practice credits?
Not by default. Connected clients use their own one-off starter credits for ReconcileIQ, CodeIQ, LedgerIQ and IQ Books. If you turn on sponsorship, the top-up is deliberately taken from your practice credit pool to the target balance you choose. A client can instead subscribe independently and remain connected to your practice.
PrepIQ is practice-only: every year-end job draws from your practice allocation, never a connected client's.
